The DCS2 file also works in Corel Draw but it looks super ugly gray dots. In Illustrator, you can see the colors in the pallet as soon as you import the file, and you can also change those color and the names of those colors. When you go to print seps, you won't see the names of those colors until you check "separations", Then those spot color names magically appear. You can see the spot colors, but the names of the spot colors doesn't show up in the color pallet. Going to Corel Draw the flattened Photoshop file with spot color channels also works with a few issues. If going to Indesign, all the same applies. A pdf will work, but the channels have white bounding boxes rather than transparent bounding boxes so you can only see them by turning off or hiding one channel at a time. If you're importing into Illustrator or Indesign, a lot of things will work including the native Photoshop file (flattened with channels included).
